No-vig calculator — fair odds and the bookmaker's margin
Type the price on each side of a two-way market — a spread, a total, a moneyline with no draw. The margin comes out, and what is left is the market's price with nothing added.
American odds, e.g. −110.- Vig (hold)
- 4.55%
- Overround (book total)
- 104.76%
| Side | Implied, vig included | No-vig probability | Fair odds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Side A (-110) | 52.38% | 50.00% | +100 · 2.000 |
| Side B (-110) | 52.38% | 50.00% | +100 · 2.000 |
No-vig figures use the proportional method: each side's implied probability divided by the book total. It is the market's price with the margin removed, not a forecast — other methods (power, Shin) split a lopsided market slightly differently.

| -200 / +170 | 3.57% | 64.3% / 35.7% | -180 / +180 |
| -300 / +240 | 4.23% | 71.8% / 28.2% | -255 / +255 |
How the vig is removed
The vig, or juice, is the bookmaker's margin. Convert each side to implied probability — −110 is 52.38% — and add them: 104.76%. The 4.76 points over 100 are the overround.
To remove it, divide each side's implied probability by the book total. At −150/+130 that is 60% and 43.48%, 103.48% in all, so the no-vig probabilities are 57.98% and 42.02% — fair odds of −138 and +138.
The hold is the share of all the money staked that a balanced book keeps: the overround divided by the book total. At −110/−110 that is 4.76 ÷ 104.76 = 4.545%, the figure usually quoted as the vig on a standard line.
