Round robin calculator: parlays, total stake and maximum payout

The round robin calculator takes three to eight selections with odds and builds every parlay of the sizes you choose, such as all two-pick parlays. Enter a stake per parlay. It prints the number of parlays, the total stake, the maximum payout if every selection wins, and a table with the price and payout of each combination.

Parlay sizes
Number of parlays

Total stake

Max payout, all selections win
$218.68
Max profit
+$158.68

4 selections by 2 make 6 parlays at $10.00 each, a total stake of $60.00. If every selection wins they return $218.68.

Every parlay is a separate bet, so the total stake is the stake per parlay times the number of parlays. A pushed or voided selection changes the parlays that contain it, and this page does not model that.

How a round robin is calculated

Parlays of size k from n selections = n! ÷ (k! × (n − k)!). Total stake = number of parlays × stake per parlay. A parlay pays stake × the product of its decimal odds.

The maximum payout is the sum of every parlay payout, which only happens when every selection wins. Each selection that loses ends every parlay that contains it.

Worked example

Four selections at -110 (1.909), by 2s, with $10 on each parlay. Four choose two is 6 parlays, so the total stake is $60.00. Each parlay pays $10 × 1.909 × 1.909 = $36.45. If all four win, the return is 6 × $36.45 = $218.68. If one selection loses, 3 parlays remain and return $109.34, which is $49.34 above the stake. If two lose, 1 parlay remains and returns $36.45, which is $23.55 below the stake.

Questions

What is a round robin bet?

A round robin is a set of parlays built from the same selections. With four selections by 2s, every pair becomes its own two-pick parlay, six in all. Each parlay is a separate bet with its own stake, and a selection that loses ends only the parlays that contain it.

How many parlays are in a round robin?

The number of parlays of size k from n selections is n choose k, which is n! ÷ (k! × (n − k)!). Four by 2s is 6, four by 3s is 4, five by 2s is 10. Sizes can be combined, so four by 2s and 3s is 10 parlays.

Does every selection have to win in a round robin?

No. A round robin returns something whenever at least one whole parlay wins, which needs every selection in that parlay to win. The maximum payout needs every selection to win. The total stake is larger than a single parlay, and a round robin does not change the odds on any selection.
