What a divisional game means in college football
This is simpler than it is usually made to sound. Teams that play each other repeatedly know each other, and familiarity compresses margins slightly.
In college football specifically: Rosters change by transfer portal and by eligibility, and a team in November may be materially different from the one that opened the season.
A conference opponent is played once a year, so whatever familiarity exists is a year old by the time it matters.
The problem arrives next. The effect is small and universally believed, which is a bad combination — it is fully priced and still cited as though it were not.

How they ended
Over 1,299 finished games in College Football whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.
| What | How often | Out of | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Went past regulation | 64 | 1,299 | 4.9% |
5 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.
The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
