First five innings, and rain

A first-five market needs five complete innings — four and a half if the home team leads — and rain before that voids it, whether or not the full game later becomes official.

The two markets carry separate completion tests and are resolved separately. A full-game bet asks whether the game is official; a first-five bet asks whether the first five were completed.

One rain delay, two answers Rain ends a game in the bottom of the fifth with the visitors ahead. The first five were not completed, so that market voids. The game is official at four and a half with the home team behind, so the full-game bet is settled and paid.

It runs the other way too: a game suspended in the seventh and resumed the next day has a settled first five and an unsettled full game.

Here is the catch. The first five gets treated as a safer version of the same bet, and it is a different contract with a different completion test — which is part of why it prices differently.

What to do with it. On a card with weather, check which of the two completion tests your ticket depends on before the first pitch.

What the published price did in MLB

2,496 games in MLB that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between March 26, 2026 and October 29, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 3,339 finished games in MLB whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

137 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
