What it means when a service recommends a bookmaker
Almost always a paid referral, which gives the recommender a financial interest in where you bet and often in how much you lose.
Affiliate arrangements commonly pay a share of net losses rather than a flat fee, which aligns the recommender's income with the operator's revenue rather than with the reader's result.
Disclosure is legally required in most jurisdictions, and a clearly disclosed recommendation from somebody you otherwise trust can still be useful information.
And that is the trap. The disclosure is frequently placed where it will not be read, and the reader who most needs it is the one least likely to scroll to it.
What to do with it. Check for a disclosure, and treat a service that recommends no bookmaker at all as having removed the conflict rather than as having failed to help.
