Getting limited

A book reducing your maximum stake, usually without warning and rarely reversed. It is the industry's standard response to consistent winning.

Recreational and professional customers are different businesses. Operators are built around the first, and an account whose activity resembles the second is managed rather than served.

What it looks like An account allowed two thousand on a side is suddenly allowed forty, with no message explaining why. Everything else about the account continues to work normally.

Some operators explicitly do not do this and compete on that basis, generally with higher margins in exchange.

Here is the catch. Winning consistently is how it is earned, which makes it the most awkward fact about the product and the one least mentioned in any marketing.

What to do with it. Spread activity across several books from the start, and treat account longevity as part of the strategy rather than an afterthought.
