Chasing bonuses without reading the terms

Rollover requirements, minimum odds, excluded markets and expiry dates decide the value of a promotion completely. The headline figure decides nothing.

Every clause exists because somebody previously found a way to extract the money without giving the operator any turnover. The terms are the actual product; the headline is the advertisement for it.

What 'free 50' can mean A 50 bonus with a six-times rollover at minimum odds of −200 requires 300 of qualifying turnover before withdrawal, and the vig on that turnover eats a large share of the bonus before it is released.

Some promotions are genuinely good, particularly straightforward deposit matches with low rollover. Reading the terms is what separates those from the rest, and it takes minutes.

Here is the catch. The headline is designed to be read and the terms are designed to be skipped, and the layout of every promotional page reflects that intention.

What to do with it. Calculate the required turnover and the vig on it before accepting any offer, and compare that figure to the headline.
