What overtime means in college football

Here is the part that decides it. College football overtime starts each team in field-goal range, so it inflates totals more violently than any other format in sport.

In college football specifically: Rosters change by transfer portal and by eligibility, and a team in November may be materially different from the one that opened the season.

Why it lands differently here Twelve games, and several against opponents from a different competitive universe. A season record says less here than in any other sport.

An NBA overtime adds five minutes of live scoring to a total that was priced for forty-eight.

Which is where it goes wrong. Almost every posted total includes overtime, and almost every reader prices the game as if it does not.

How they ended

Over 1,299 finished games in College Football whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

WhatHow oftenOut ofShare

5 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.

Counted November 6, 2026.
