What travel and time zones mean in the NBA
Start with the mechanism, not the opinion. Crossing three time zones to play an early game means a body clock kicking off at what it thinks is mid-morning.
In the NBA specifically: Games every other night. Nothing has a week of line formation, and a number can be posted and played inside twenty-four hours.
MLS travel is the most extreme in this set — a league spanning a continent plus Canada, with midweek continental fixtures on top.
And that is the trap. Every schedule effect is public. The unpriced part is a squad rotated for a Wednesday fixture nobody in the local market is watching.

1,261 games in the NBA that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 25, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
