What bet insurance is
Bet insurance — A refund if a bet loses in a specified way — one leg short, a late equaliser, a specific margin.
The refund is usually in site credit rather than cash, and site credit is worth less than money because the stake is consumed when it is used.
Some insurance offers are straightforwardly good, particularly cash refunds on common outcomes.
Here is the catch. It is priced into the offer, and the value depends entirely on the refund's form and the trigger's breadth.
What to do with it. Check whether the refund is cash or credit, and how narrow the trigger is, before valuing it.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
