What juice is
Juice — The same thing as vig, named after the price rather than the margin. A market at −110 both ways is described as having ten cents of juice; −105 is five.
The term comes from the increment above even money. It is convenient shorthand precisely because the difference between −105 and −110 is small in appearance and large in effect.
Reduced-juice markets exist and are genuinely better value, usually accompanied by lower limits or restricted availability.
Here is the catch. Shopping for better juice is the only edge available to everybody and requires no opinion about any sport, which is exactly why it is the one almost nobody takes.
What to do with it. Compare the price before the selection, and treat taking the first number you see as a cost.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.
The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
