What a three-way moneyline is

A three-way moneyline — Home, away or draw, each priced separately. Standard in soccer and in hockey's regulation-only markets.

Sports where a tie is a real result need a third price. The two-way version removes the draw and adjusts the remaining prices to pay for that removal.

The sum 2.10 / 3.40 / 3.60 implies 47.6, 29.4 and 27.8 per cent, adding to 104.8. A reader treating the two team prices as the whole market is missing over a quarter of it.

Draw-no-bet and double-chance are the two common ways to express a two-outcome opinion in a three-outcome market.

What follows from that is less comfortable. Confusing the two versions is the classic error for a reader arriving from American sport, and the labels distinguishing them are usually one word.

What to do with it. Count the prices before betting any soccer moneyline. Three prices is a different bet from two.

What the published price did in US sports

11,262 games in US sports that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 24, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 16,021 finished games in US sports whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
