Why the Whop post comes after the site's buyers have the pick

Each day has one main pick. It goes to the people who bought a package on the site first, and then to the Whop community. Both happen before kickoff. This article describes the order, so that a Whop member is not surprised by it, and explains what the order means for the price you can get.

The order of events

  • The main pick is chosen and sealed. A SHA-256 hash of it is created before kickoff.
  • The alert goes out to buyers on the site.
  • After that, the pick is posted in Sealed picks on Whop, and the fixture with the hash is posted in The record. A short note appears in the Members chat.
  • After the final, the result, hash and salt go into The record, and the same result goes on the public record at betsbeats.com/results.

The Whop posts are tied to the site's alert: they only go up once it has been sent, and only while the game is still ahead. If the pick has not been announced to site buyers, nothing is posted to Whop.

Why this order

The site came first, and its buyers bought a package that counts winning days. Putting the same pick in front of one group before another is not a different pick, a better pick or a hidden pick. Nobody gets a second selection by paying more or by joining a different place. The order is a statement of who was served first.

What it can cost you

A gap between the site alert and the Whop post can be long enough for a line to move. If many people act on a pick and the market adjusts, a Whop member may see a slightly worse price than the one in the first alert. That is a real cost, and it is why each post carries a minimum price. Compare the price you can get with the minimum before you bet.

Moving line, same ruleA pick is published at -110 with a minimum of -120. When you read it in Sealed picks, your place shows -118. That is still inside the line and the bet is the published bet. If it shows -128, skip the day.

What it does not change

  • The pick is identical across the site and Whop. See what the community is.
  • The hash is the same. Recompute it either way at betsbeats.com/verify.
  • No promise is made about the length of the gap or about the hour of release. The posts arrive when they are ready, and what is fixed is that they arrive before kickoff.

What to do about it

  • Decide your minimum acceptable price before you open the post. The post gives it to you.
  • Do not chase a moved line. A skipped day is allowed, and not betting every day is a habit worth having.
  • Record the price you got. Over several days you will see how much the gap costs you, if anything.

How to plan around it

Plan as if the line may have moved by the time you read the post. Put your minimum price in your log first, then look at the market. If you are betting in a window close to kickoff, keep in mind that prices can change quickly and that a skipped day costs nothing. Members who treat the minimum as a hard rule rarely feel rushed.

This is a timing disclosureThe earlier alert on the site and the later post on Whop are both before kickoff, and both are the same sealed pick. A buyer who wants to be first to every pick has a reason to prefer the site's packages. Everything here is for adults aged 21 or over, and every pick can lose.
