What the minimum price line on a Whop pick means

Every main pick posted in Sealed picks on Whop carries two prices. The first is the published price, the odds visible when the pick was released. The second is the minimum price, followed by a short instruction: below that, skip it. The line exists because the price you can actually get is often different from the one printed in the post.

What it is

The minimum price is the floor. If the price you can get is the minimum or better, the bet is still the one that was published. If the price you can get is worse than the minimum, the bet has changed from the one that was sealed, because the same side at a worse number is a different bet. It is part of what the hash covers, so it cannot be moved after the game.

Reading it in American odds

In American odds, a negative number is what you must risk to win 100, and a positive number is what you win from a 100 risk. Better and worse can feel backwards at first, so use the break-even rate to anchor it:

  • -110 needs a win about 52.4% of the time to break even.
  • -120 needs about 54.5%.
  • -130 needs about 56.5%.
  • +100 needs 50%.
  • +110 needs about 47.6%.
A worked exampleA pick is published at -110 with a minimum price of -120. If your book shows -110, -115 or -120, the bet is still inside the line. If it shows -125, you are below the minimum and the instruction is to skip. The difference between -110 and -125 looks small in cents but changes the break-even rate from about 52.4% to about 55.6%.

Why a minimum helps you

  • It limits how far a late price move can cost you. Lines move when injury news lands or when a lot of money arrives on one side.
  • It gives you a decision rule you can write down before the market opens, so you do not argue with yourself in the moment.
  • It makes your own record comparable with the published one. If you took the pick at the minimum or better, you can say you took the pick.

What it does not do

The minimum is a statement about the price at which BetsBeats still considered the pick worth taking. It is not a promise that the pick wins at that price, and it does not make a worse price acceptable. If you skip a day because the market is below the minimum, that is a correct use of the pick, not a missed one. What minimum odds mean covers the same rule for site buyers.

Practical habits

  • Look at the line before you look at the pick, so you know what price you will accept.
  • Record the price you actually got. You will need it to judge, later, whether your results track the published ones.
  • If your region offers several places to bet, you may see different prices. BetsBeats names none and links to none.

When the price is better than published

Sometimes the price you see is better than the one in the post, for example +110 where the post says -110. That is within the line and nothing needs to be decided. Note it in your log. Over time, a pattern of better prices than published and a pattern of worse ones both tell you something about when you tend to bet and where. Neither changes the rule, which is only that a price below the minimum is a day to skip.

Skipping a day is allowed. Nothing in a Whop membership asks you to bet every pick, and not betting every day is a sound habit. The pick is information for adults aged 21 or over, and it can lose at any price.

What the published price did in US sports

11,262 games in US sports that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 24, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 16,021 finished games in US sports whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
