Closing an account

Any regulated operator must allow closure, and most must return the balance to its source. Closure and self-exclusion are different requests with different reversibility.

Closure is an ordinary account action and is reversible. Self-exclusion is a regulated commitment that is deliberately difficult to undo, and the difficulty is the entire feature.

Asking for the wrong one A request to 'close my account' is frequently processed as a simple closure, which can be reopened the same evening. Somebody who needed the binding version did not get it.

Some jurisdictions maintain multi-operator exclusion registers, which apply across every licensed operator at once rather than to a single account.

The problem arrives next. Support will offer the reversible option by default, because it is the lower-friction one and the one that preserves the relationship.

What to do with it. Name the specific mechanism you want in writing, and confirm in the reply which one was applied.
