A palpable error
An obviously wrong price, which the terms allow the operator to void after bets have been accepted.
Pricing errors happen — a transposed digit, a model fed bad data — and no operator can afford to honour them at scale. Every set of terms contains a clause covering it.
The clause is genuinely necessary, and operators vary in how narrowly they define 'palpable' and how consistently they apply it.
That is also the expensive part. It is entirely one-directional. No book has ever voided a price that was accidentally too short in the customer's favour.
What to do with it. Do not build any plan around an obviously wrong price, and read how narrowly your book defines the clause.
