Betting at a single bookmaker
The same fixture is priced differently at different operators. Taking the first number you see is paying a tax that has no name and appears on no statement.
Books price from different models and carry different liabilities, so they disagree constantly by small amounts. Those small amounts are the only edge available to somebody with no opinion about any sport at all.
It requires accounts, funding across them, and the patience to check before every bet. That operational cost is real, and it is far smaller than the difference it buys.
What follows from that is less comfortable. It is the one advantage genuinely available to everybody, which is exactly why it is the one almost nobody takes — it is boring and it works.
What to do with it. Open accounts at three or more books, check all of them before every bet, and never take a price without seeing at least two.
