Ten-minute quarters

Forty minutes of play rather than forty-eight, which puts totals roughly forty points below NBA numbers for a comparable standard of basketball.

Eight fewer minutes is a sixth of the game removed, and scoring scales with time. The difference is larger than the gap between the highest and lowest-scoring teams in either league.

The size of the conversion error A reader converting from NBA habits without adjusting is out by around forty points before considering either team. No amount of analysis recovers from that.

Pace differences between the leagues add to the effect, so the adjustment is not simply a ratio of minutes.

And that is the trap. The two sports look identical and are priced on different scales, which is precisely the situation where an unexamined assumption survives longest.

What to do with it. Use WNBA baselines only, and never scale an NBA number as a shortcut.

What the published price did in the WNBA

362 games in the WNBA that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between April 30, 2026 and November 1, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 425 finished games in the WNBA whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

1 game landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so it is in the count it is out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.

Counted November 6, 2026.
