What a pick'em is

A pick'em — A game with no handicap, both sides priced near even money. Sometimes shown as PK.

The market considers the two teams close enough that no points are needed to balance the action, which happens when ratings and home advantage roughly cancel.

What you are actually fighting With no handicap in either direction there is no free half point anywhere. The vig is the entire obstacle, and at −110 both ways you need 52.4 per cent on a market the book calls a coin flip.

A pick'em can still carry an asymmetric price, and that asymmetry is where the book's actual opinion sits.

And that is the trap. It reads as the purest available bet and it is the one where the margin is the largest share of what you have to overcome.

What to do with it. Treat a pick'em as requiring a clearer edge than a handicapped market, not a smaller one.

How they ended

Over 16,021 finished games in US sports whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
