Reading a settled ticket posted in The record
When a day settles, a post goes into The record on Whop. Where the settled ticket is available, it appears as an image at the top of the post, followed by text lines. The ticket is a picture of a bet slip and the text is the evidence beside it. Reading them together takes a minute.
The post title
The title begins with the verdict, WON or LOST, then a dot and the two teams. A third verdict, VOID, exists for a game that was cancelled or otherwise could not be graded. A losing result is titled LOST and is never described as void.
The ticket image
The image shows a slip: the market, the selection, the price and the outcome. It is generated from the same data as the post and is not the source of truth. If an image and the text disagree, the text and the hash are the record. The ticket is rendered after the day settles, so a game that finishes late at night may be posted as plain text first, with the image added to the same post the next morning.
The text lines
- The bet in bold, with its price. The market, the side and the American odds, for example a spread of a few points at -110. This is the published price, the one in the sealed post.
- The final score. Check it against any public results page.
- The hash, public before kickoff. The same 64 characters posted before the game. If you saved the earlier post, compare the two.
- The salt. 64 random characters revealed only after the final.
- The verify line. A pointer to betsbeats.com/verify, where the hash can be recomputed.
On a loss, the post adds one line: losing days stay on the record next to the winning ones. The footer gives the 21+ and entertainment notice and a helpline number.
What to compare
- The price on the ticket against the published price in Sealed picks. They should agree.
- The price you got when you placed your own bet against the published price. Note the difference. A better price helped you and a worse one cost you, which is the reason for the minimum price. See what the minimum price line means.
- The settlement against the game. A push is a graded outcome, with the stake returned, and a postponed game is not a loss.
Where the ticket is not enough
A checklist you can reuse
- Title: verdict, then the teams.
- Image, if present: market, side, price, outcome.
- Bold line: the bet and its published price.
- Final score.
- Hash and salt.
- Verify link.
- On a loss, the line about losing days staying on the record.
If any of those is missing, wait a few hours for the ticket to be added, and ask in the Lounge if it still has not appeared.
The ticket cannot tell you whether the bet was placed by you at the same price, since BetsBeats does not place bets. It also cannot tell you how a run of results compares with a run elsewhere. For that you need the whole record, which is the next job: how to read the public record. Everything here is for adults aged 21 or over, and every pick can lose.
