What early-season pricing means in the NBA
The useful version of this is narrower than the popular one. Openers are priced from last season plus roster changes, because no current-season data exists.
In the NBA specifically: Games every other night. Nothing has a week of line formation, and a number can be posted and played inside twenty-four hours.
It is the widest gap of the year between what the market knows and what it will know, which is why limits are lowest then.
That is also the expensive part. It is also when your own information is worst, and the second of those matters more than the first.

1,261 games in the NBA that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 25, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

4 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.
The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
