Whether overtime counts in a player prop
It does, at essentially every operator: a player prop settles on the full game, overtime included.
A prop is a bet on the player's final line for that game, and the final line has overtime in it. The period a market names is the period it settles on, which is why a first-half prop behaves differently.
Overtime is not rare enough to ignore — roughly one game in fifteen goes past regulation, and the players carrying the props are the ones on the floor for it.
What follows from that is less comfortable. An under that was comfortably ahead at the buzzer is live again for five minutes, and nothing about the number you took accounted for a period that was never scheduled.
What to do with it. On a close game, price an under near the line as though an extra period is a real possibility, because it is.

What the published price did in the NBA
1,261 games in the NBA that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 25, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended
Over 1,587 finished games in the NBA whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.
| What | How often | Out of | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Went past regulation | 77 | 1,587 | 4.9% |
4 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.
The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
