How a day is settled, and by whom
The competition's official result decides the day. Not our reading of it, not a live score, and not your bookmaker's feed.
The order it happens in
- The main pick is released with its price, its minimum price and its commit hash. From kick-off, nothing about it is edited.
- The match ends and the result is officially confirmed. That is the moment we settle on — not the final whistle, because a VAR review or a post-match ruling can still change what happened.
- The main pick is marked won, lost or void.
- The counter moves if, and only if, it was marked won.
- The row is locked, the secret behind the hash is published, and the day goes into the results archive — win, loss or void.
When sources disagree
If a bookmaker's feed says one thing and the competition says another, the competition wins — including when that costs us a day we would otherwise have counted. A settlement source you can only trust when it agrees with us is not a source.
If you think a day closed wrongly
- Write to [email protected] with the date. That is all we need.
- We send back that day's receipt: fixture, market, published price, minimum price, release time, the commit hash and where the result came from.
- If we got it wrong we reverse it, the day goes back on your counter, and the correction stays visible in the archive rather than being deleted.
- A dispute still open after three days is resolved in your favour. The ceiling exists so nobody has to escalate to their bank to be heard.
Which rules judged your day
Every day records the version of the settlement rules in force when it was published, and a day is always judged by that version. Rules only move forward, so tightening one later can never reach back and take a day from somebody who already bought.
We settle the day, your bookmaker settles your bet
These are separate. Your bookmaker decides when your bet pays, what it pays and under whose rules — including the awkward cases. We decide what your counter does. Where we cannot agree with a competition's official result, we follow the competition.
