How to connect the BetsBeats MCP server to Claude Desktop
In Claude Desktop open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it BetsBeats, paste https://api.betsbeats.com/mcp and set authentication to No sign in. Then switch the connector on in a chat. The same steps work on claude.ai. Remote servers are added here, not in claude_desktop_config.json, which is for local servers.
Checked against each client's documentation on 1 November 2026. Menus move between releases, so the endpoint URL is the one part that does not change.
Steps
- Open Claude Desktop and go to Customize, then Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter the name BetsBeats and the URL https://api.betsbeats.com/mcp. Under Authentication choose No sign in, then click Add.
- In a chat, click + at the lower left, open Connectors and turn BetsBeats on for the conversation.
Config
Name: BetsBeats
URL: https://api.betsbeats.com/mcp
Authentication: No sign inAnthropic's documentation says custom connectors are available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, with one custom connector on Free, and that on Team and Enterprise an owner adds them. Claude connects from Anthropic's cloud, which works here because the endpoint is public.
Test it
Ask your assistant to use a tool whose answer you can check by hand.
Use the BetsBeats MCP server to convert odds of +150 to decimal and implied probability.A working connection returns decimal odds of 2.5 and an implied probability of 0.4, which is 40 percent, from the convert_odds tool.
Questions
Can I use claude_desktop_config.json instead?
That file configures local servers that run on your computer. Anthropic documents remote servers as a separate mechanism, added through Connectors, so use the steps above.
Will Claude ask before calling a tool?
Claude can ask for approval before using a connector's tools, depending on your settings. All six BetsBeats tools are read-only, so a call can only fetch public data or return arithmetic.
