What a moneyline is

A moneyline is a bet on who wins the game, and nothing else. A one-run win in the ninth and a ten-run rout settle exactly the same way.

Astros — Mets · Mets 2.25 Ten on the Mets returns 22.50 if the Mets win. By how much they win never enters into it — and if they lose by one, the bet is lost in exactly the same way as if they lose by nine.

Because there is no line evening the two teams up, the entire difference between them has to sit inside the price. That is why moneylines get lopsided: a heavy favourite pays back barely more than you put on, and the other side pays several times it. Those two facts are the same fact, written from opposite ends.

Ties

Most American sports cannot finish level, so there are two outcomes rather than three. The NFL is the exception — a regular-season game can end tied — and bookmakers differ on what they do with a moneyline then. Most void the bet and return the stake. That rule lives in your bookmaker's terms, not in ours, so read it there.

How it appears on a pick

Every pick we publish carries four things: the market, the side, the line and the price. On a moneyline there is no line — there is nothing to give away or take on — so that field is left empty rather than filled with a zero. The price shown is the bookmaker's price for that exact side, and the minimum price underneath it is the floor below which we would not take the bet at all.

The archive

What the published price did in US sports

11,262 games in US sports that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 24, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 16,021 finished games in US sports whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
