Parlay / accumulator — and why we sell none

A parlay staples several bets into one ticket. The odds multiply, so the payout looks enormous. But every leg has to land: one miss and the whole ticket is gone.

The arithmetic nobody puts on the poster Four selections at 1.90 each pay about 13 times your stake. That sounds good. But if each one lands half the time, the full ticket comes in once in sixteen. The big payout and the small chance are the same fact seen from two sides.

On top of that, the bookmaker's margin applies to every leg and compounds. That is why parlays are the most heavily promoted product almost everywhere: not because they are good for the bettor.

We publish one main pick a day, and it is a single bet. We never staple several together to inflate the price. The extra picks released alongside it are independent bets, settle separately, and are not designed to be combined into one ticket. If you choose to combine them, that is yours to do — but the result is then no longer ours, and your counter never hears about it.

The parlay calculator is there to show the arithmetic rather than to encourage it: add legs and the chance of the ticket landing falls faster than the payout rises.

What the published price did in US sports

11,262 games in US sports that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 24, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 16,021 finished games in US sports whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
