A bowl opt-out and the prop you already took

A player who announces he is sitting out is not injured and not scratched, and the prop settles under the same participation rule as any other absence: no appearance, no bet.

Operators write one test — did the player take the field — and it does not care why. What is different here is the timing: an opt-out is public days or weeks early, so the market usually comes down rather than settling, and a bet taken before the announcement is the one still open.

The same rule, two different weeks A December prop on a receiver taken before bowl season is void when he announces on the twentieth that he is preparing for the draft. A prop taken after the announcement is on a board that already knows, and is priced on the player replacing him.

Season-long and award markets are the exception and are usually settled rather than voided, because the qualifying period has already ended.

The problem arrives next. It is the one absence in sport that is announced in advance and still catches people, because the announcement and the market suspension do not happen at the same moment.

What to do with it. Check the participation list before a bowl rather than after, and treat any prop held through an announcement as a position you have to close yourself.

How they ended

Over 1,299 finished games in College Football whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

WhatHow oftenOut ofShare

5 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
