What a player prop is
A player prop is a bet on one player's own number rather than on the game's. Strikeouts, passing yards, points and rebounds, shots on goal: the bookmaker posts a line for that player and you take the over or the under, exactly as with a total.
Read the settlement rule before you read the price
Props are where bookmakers' rules diverge most. Whether overtime counts, what happens if the player does not take the field, and how the statistic itself is defined all vary from one book to the next. Most books void a prop when the player does not appear; not all of them do it the same way. Two identically worded props at two bookmakers can settle differently on the same game, and the only place that is written down is your bookmaker's rulebook.
They move on news, and they move quickly
A lineup card, an injury report, a pitcher scratched an hour before first pitch: props react to all of it, and a line posted the night before is frequently not the line an hour before the game. See why a line moves.
On our card
The side names the player and the direction, the line is the number, and the price is your bookmaker's for that exact combination. If your book is offering a different number, that is a different bet — the minimum price was a floor for the line we published, and it does not carry across to another one.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.
The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
