Reading a three-way price

Home, draw and away, each priced separately, and the three implied probabilities summing to more than 100 per cent by the margin.

Soccer keeps the draw as a genuine outcome, so the market has three prices rather than two. The overround is spread across all three, which is why it is usually larger than a two-way market's.

The sum in practice 2.10 / 3.40 / 3.60 implies 47.6, 29.4 and 27.8 per cent, summing to 104.8. The draw is over a quarter of the market and is the outcome most often ignored.

Two-way versions of the same market exist — draw-no-bet, double chance — with the draw removed and the price adjusted to pay for it.

That is also the expensive part. A reader from American sport reads the two team prices as a complete market. It is not, and the omission costs the whole stake roughly a quarter of the time.

What to do with it. Always locate the third price before betting a soccer moneyline, and check whether the market includes the draw or has priced it out.

What the published price did in US sports

11,262 games in US sports that are over and carried a price when we wrote them up, between November 24, 2025 and November 6, 2026. Each count sits beside what it is out of, and the share is the one divided by the other.

How they ended

Over 16,021 finished games in US sports whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.

286 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.

The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.

A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
