What the free mailing list is
The list is free, it has nothing to do with a package, and it never carries the paid pick.
What it sends
- Game previews — what is coming up and what is worth knowing about it.
- Reports — how the games actually went afterwards.
It is the public writing on this site, delivered rather than waited for. You can read all of it without ever subscribing.
What it never sends
The day's main pick and the extras that come with it. Those are the product: they go to the people who bought them, through their own channels. No amount of subscribing gets you a pick, and nothing in a preview is a redacted one.
How joining works
- Type your address into any of the forms on the site.
- We send one email with a single link in it and nothing to sell.
- Click it, and only then are you on the list. An address that never confirms is never mailed.
It is separate from your account
Subscribing does not create an account, buying does not subscribe you, unsubscribing does not touch the delivery of anything you paid for, and switching off pick alerts does not unsubscribe you. Two lists, two switches, on purpose.
Why the form always answers the same thing
It says "check your email" whether or not the address is already on the list. If the answer differed, the form would be a tool for finding out whether somebody else's address is on it — which is their business, not the internet's.
