Overtime in a college basketball total
The posted total covers two halves and every overtime period played after them, unless the market names a half.
College overtime is five minutes and there is no limit on how many are played. The number was priced on forty minutes and settles on whatever length the game turned out to be.
Second-half markets are where this is most often misread: at most operators the second half includes overtime, so a second-half under carries the same risk the full-game under does.
Which is where it goes wrong. College basketball produces more overtime than the professional game, because possessions are fewer and margins tighter — so a total that looks safe with two minutes left is worse value here than the instinct suggests.
What to do with it. Check whether a second-half market at your operator includes overtime before treating it as a twenty-minute bet.

How they ended
Over 6,487 finished games in College Basketball whose result line says how it ended — the feed's own one-line verdict, not a reading of the play.
| What | How often | Out of | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Went past regulation | 329 | 6,487 | 5.1% |
4 games landed exactly on the number — the handicap or the total — so they are in the counts they are out of and in neither result.
The prices counted here are DraftKings', as they stood when we last wrote each game up — one snapshot per game, near kick-off for almost all of them, and never a closing line. So this says what the published line did, not how it moved on the way there.
A season that happened. Nothing here predicts the next game, and none of it is advice.
